Couples Therapy addresses the behaviors of partners and the way these behaviors affect individuals and the partnership as a whole. Couples therapy may also be referred to as marriage counseling or couples counseling.

Couples Therapy can be short-term consisting of solution-focused sessions. More sessions may be required, however, depending on the nature and depth of the treatment goals. In couples therapy, the therapist will begin by meeting with both partners and then spend some time with each individual. The approach to relationship health and wellness is to engage both the individuals within the relationship and explore the relationship or partnership as a whole. This treatment modality is goal-oriented and works toward established outcomes.

How to get started? What to expect?
Call 312-586-8721 to schedule your initial appointment. The first session is generally dedicated to gathering information and for the therapist to listen all perspectives. In addition, you should be able to: begin outlining goals of treatment, discuss any guidelines for therapy, get a sense of the therapist’s role, and hopefully align schedules for a second appointment.
