Reneé Miranda-Beristain, MS, LPC, NCC
Bilingual Psychotherapist
My name is Reneé Miranda-Beristain and I am a Bilingual (Spanish/English) Psychotherapist. My preferred pronouns are she, her, hers.
My goal is to make every client I work with know that I support them unconditionally and believe in their story. Utilizing an integrative approach that incorporates Client-Centered, Feminist, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approaches allows me both to establish trust within relationships and partner with clients on their journey to healing. I believe in meeting clients where they are and sitting as a thoughtful, curious, and grateful observer as the client determines the direction and pace of therapy.
My current areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, family dynamics, trauma-informed care, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and crisis-intervention. Throughout my years in the field of counseling, I have worked with a diverse range of clients including: children, adolescents, adults, families, couples, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I have also cherished the opportunity to partner with school districts in an effort to enhance the lives of clients.
I received my Bachelor’s Degree with Honors from National Louis University in 2010 and my Master of Science in Community Counseling from National Louis University in 2014. I completed a mental health internship at Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center, 40-hour Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention Training through Mujeres Latinas en Acción, and Domestic Violence Training at Pillars Community Services.
Upon graduating from National Louis, I became a Bilingual Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Therapist at Pillars. While at Pillars, I worked with individual clients, families, significant others, and I created a clinical support group for teenage girl survivors. In January 2016, I transitioned to Resilience (formerly known as Rape Victim Advocates) as a Trauma Therapist and Clinical Intern Supervisor.
I am passionate about the work I do and look forward to working with people from all walks of life.
